Discover Secrets of Indian home food

Food Collection

A take-away like no other! Home-cooked, neighbourhood vibes where you can enjoy a complimentary drink while you wait to pick up your supper. This is designed to revolutionise your experience of Indian food by curating authentic menus, with both classical influences and the second-generation desi twists that I’m passionate about. As our home cooked meals are made to order on a small scale, you will taste the love and care in every mouthful. Each fortnight you will choose a set menu, either a carnivorous or plant based option, which you can enjoy in the comfort of your own home. The menus change each time, but rotate so don’t worry if you’ve missed out on a favourite!

My Story

BBC1’s Best Home Cook was a wonderful experience that has set me on a path to follow my passion – food and feeding! I’ve subsequently trained at Ashburton Chef’s Academy so I can now also cook like a Chef. I can’t think of a better way to serve my local community than through the sharing of, and love of, great home cooked food.

My Values

Sustainability is hugely important to me. Businesses of all sizes have a responsibility to operate ethically, protecting the environment around us, our people and our planet. At My Home Cooked we strive to minimise waste – both food and packaging. Any packaging we use is biodegradable, compostable, or recyclable. Our food is pre ordered & pre paid to minimise food waste. Our collection model is aimed at reducing carbon emissions while increasing the neighbourhood vibe. The produce we use is locally sourced wherever possible and fully traceable. You are more than just a customer to us, you’re friends and family. We want you to have the best possible dining experience without having to stress about the environmental impact.

My Food

My menus are designed to inspire you, and provide an introduction to authentic Indian home food, the way we eat it. One box to serve each diner; which also importantly minimises packaging and food waste. I will curate set menus to showcase the home cooked food of second generation British Indians, not only the classics but also the hybrid food that takes the best of my British roots and Punjabi heritage and brings the two together in a delicious alchemy. There will also be other global influences that take you on a culinary journey around the world. My Home Cooked aims to revolutionise your dining experience.

How to Order

To keep you safe from Covid, we operate a cashless system. Therefore food must be pre-ordered and pre-paid (either via PayPal or bank transfer). Your order collection time will be confirmed once payment has been received. These will typically be between 6-8pm on Friday and Saturday and are staggered to avoid contact with anybody else. Please note that once orders have been confirmed and purchased these are non-refundable. To place an order please email sarah@myhomecooked.co.uk. Orders will be limited, so please order early to avoid disappointment.

Allergies: Your welfare is our number one priority. Please notify us of any food allergies when placing an order. Common allergens used in our dishes are nuts – we cannot guarantee a nut free food preparation area – dairy and mustard. We will do our best to accommodate your needs however, so please speak to a member of staff.
